WORK INCLUDES

Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers are responsible for laying, shaping, and trimming bricks, tiles, or slabs using hammers, chisels, and power tools. Requires situational awareness, physical fitness, computational reasoning, improvisational problem solving, and communication skills.

Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers may specialize in the following areas (and more):

  • Bricklayer
  • Stone mason
  • Tile layer
  • Marble mason
  • Terrazo worker
  • Blocklayer
  • Tile finisher
  • Pointer
  • Cleaner
  • Caulker
  • Precast mason

APPRENTICESHIP & TRAINING

To join an apprenticeship program you must be 18 years of age, achieved a high school diploma or GED and the physical ability to do the work.

Apprenticeships programs usually last a minimum of three to four years and pay wages that are a certain percentage of journey level compensation.

Local 1 training centers are located in New Hope, Cotton, and Mazeppa, MN.
